How It Works When You Order Your Custom Beef...

If filling out a custom cut sheet seems overwhelming don't worry, we are here to help. First, you need to decide how much beef you and your family needs. On average a whole cow will give you about 400 pounds of beef (roasts, steaks, ground beef) in your freezer. A half will give you about 200 pounds and a quarter will average 100 pounds. You should expect a mix of steaks, roasts, ground beef, stew meat, and other various cuts. Roughly speaking, 40% of your meat will be ground and stew, 35% will be roasts (chuck, shoulder, rump, sirloin tip etc.) and 25% will be steaks (sirloin, prime / rib, T-bone, filet mignon, tenderloin etc.)

To give you an idea about what you get, a quarter share of beef will give you about
-
2-3 of each kind of roast
-
4-6 of each kind of steak
-
4 lbs of short ribs
-
4 lbs of brisket
-
4 lbs of stew
-
40 lbs ground beef

A 4 cu ft freezer should hold this.

A whole share of beef will give you about
-
16-20 total roasts
-
20-28 steaks for each kind
-
15-20 lbs of brisket
-
8-10 lbs of stew
-
7-8 lbs of short ribs
-
150 lbs ground beef

A good rule to follow when deciding how big of a freezer you need is 1 cu ft for every 25-30lbs of beef.

A cut sheet may seem a bit confusing at first but hopefully this will help you fill out that sheet. The best part is you get to customize your order to meet your family's needs. And remember we are always here to answer any questions you have.
